The Watchers are Watching: LCSO Senior Officers Begin Digital Monitoring of Whistleblower

It appears the "Tripartite Nexus" is feeling the heat.

Following my recent reports on the "Iversen Scrub" and my formal escalation to the Virginia FOIA Council—which was officially accepted and added to the state’s opinion queue on January 24, 2026—the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has moved from administrative tolling to active professional monitoring. Today, I was notified that Senior Officer Dave Carver of the LCSO is now "snooping" through my LinkedIn profile.

The Temporal Proximity: 24 Hours After the Executive Net was Cast This monitoring did not occur in a vacuum. It began exactly one day after I submitted a massive VFOIA request (Ref: R002480-012526) to LCPS. This request targets all correspondence between private attorneys Lindsay Mohler and Gareth Bowen of Troxell Leigh P.C. and the highest levels of LCPS administration, including Superintendent Aaron Spence and the School Board.

When a Senior Officer views the profile of a journalist immediately after that journalist triggers state oversight and moves to expose coordination with private counsel, it isn't "networking." It is a Digital Show of Force designed to let a whistleblower know that the state is watching their professional life in response to their investigative success.

Financial Retaliation: The New "FOIA Tax" Simultaneous with this digital surveillance, LCPS has shifted its tactics. Previously, the District provided several-hundred-page PDFs at no cost. Now, immediately following my 1/24/26 blog post and the FOIA Council fight, LCPS has abruptly started charging for all requests. This is a clear attempt to use financial exhaustion to shut down an investigation that their "Jurisdictional Pivots" failed to stop.

To the LCSO and LCPS: The more you watch me and the more you charge me, the more you confirm that my findings are accurate. Intimidation and financial barriers are the last refuge of a failed defense.

The story discussed the fact that Principal Nick Cottone of Seneca Ridge Middle School had activated his School Resource Officer to have a special education teacher arrested under suspicion that she was drunk.
